Social partners in local and regional government present their activities on migration

On 25 April EPSU and CEMR jointly presented to the Liaison Forum  -  a body which brings  together social partners in all the  different EU sectoral  social dialogue Committees -  the activities carried out by social dialogue committee for local and regional government to support the integration of migrants into employment and society.   The presentation stressed the importance of  local inclusion strategies (backed up with the necessary funding) and  of equal treatment / equal opportunities for migrants and refugees.   In the discussion other social partners gave information about their activities, for example in the education committee (addressing civic education) and in HORECA (where the Swedish ‘Fast Track’ programme mentioned in the EPSU/CEMR presentation has created 5,000 jobs for cooks).
